Superstar Stockists Cumbria

As we edge closer to Christmas I wanted to take some time to share more about the wonderful Cumbrian stockists I work with. These local Cumbrian retailers have shown so much support to my candles this year. I want to show some love back and share with you a little more about what makes them all so special.

When I began working with retail partners, it was very important for me to work with businesses that were the very best at what they do in their area. Each partner is very different from one another and unique in their own way. Each of my stockist are definitely worth a visit anytime of year, but especially during this festive season which is an extra special time to support our local businesses and explore new ones.

Whilst my online store is now closed until the new year, remember you can still stock up on my candles direct from my lovely stockists and I highly recommend you pay them a visit. Take a look below...

With 3-Mitchelin stars L'Enclume needs no introduction as one the UK's finest restaurants. Located in the medieval Priory Gatehouse in the heart of historic Cartmel, the L'Enclume shop is a must visit for anyone who loves food. The shop stocks stylish Simon Rogan keepsakes, alongside tasty products of local origin, referencing Simon’s passion for provenance, expertise and craftsmanship.

L'Enclume was my first stockist and remains one of my proudest moments in my small business journey to be included in such fine Cumbrian company.

Specialising in design led interiors and hand picked gifts, Hesta Scene is a truly unique shop in the heart of the stunning Northern Fells Village of Caldbeck.

Don't be fooled by this small door, inside the shop is set across two floors, stocking a beautiful range of handmade, locally produced items and artwork alongside emerging brands with unique finds from across the globe. There is always something new and beautiful to discover. This shop is a hidden gem and so it the village of Caldbeck, set on the edge of the National Park in the most stunning Lake District landscape but without the crowds.

White & Green is a treasure trove of gifts and accessories for your home and garden. The shop can be found in the heart of historic Cockermouth.

White & Green specialises in bespoke, handmade lampshades to suit every interior and the staff are very knowledgeable about paint, stocking high end brands like Farrow & Ball.

Penrith's most beautiful botanical shop, Wild Ivy specialises in floral arrangements for every occasion in life. Their botanical creations are breathtakingly beautiful.

They stock a great selection of house plants and plant pots alongside a range of handmade, locally sourced gifts. The shop always smells divine and is packed full of colour and unusual greenery. It is a haven for flower and plant lovers.

My favourite Lakeland gallery, the Heaton Cooper gallery is an iconic destination in Grasmere and home to generations of artists. Alongside artworks from the Heaton Cooper family you will find a fantastic array of art supplies and a curated range of beautiful homewares and gifts with a Scandi vibe

.

Adjoining the gallery is Mathilde's Cafe, inspired by Alfred Heaton Coopers marriage to Mathilde whom he met on his travels through Scandinavia. The cafe blends both cultures and serves a delicious menu of hot food and incredible cakes.

Close to Hadrian's wall and the stunning Eden Valley landscape, Venue Lanercost is a real delight for visitors just next door to the famous Lanercost Priory. The shop is focused on stocking quality wares from local makers and unique brands that you wont find on the high-street, featuring gifts, homewares, fashion and accessories.

The cafe serves delicious home cooked foods, there is even a special cafe space especially for dogs. Opening in February 2023 will be an on site coffee roastery and pizza restaurant.

**UPDATE** Due to a fire the cafe/gift shop at Lanercost will be closed until New Year**

Blending country house interiors style, home accessories and furniture you won't find on the high street is what makes Wild Rabbit unique. You can find their showroom in a historic mill building at English Damside, Carlisle.

Alongside the homewares Wild Rabbit also offer a commercial interior design service.

Verey Books opened earlier this year in the pretty Lakes village of Pooley Bridge, on the edge of Ullswater. An independent book shop with so much on offer. Alongside the great selection of books, Verey also hosts a monthly "Words on Wednesday" event which introduces you to writers and poets. Then on Saturdays young children will delight in their Saturday Storytime sessions.

After a browse in the book shop why not sample the delicious coffee and cakes on offer, maybe kick back a while and start reading that new book.

Books, candles, coffee and cake - talk about the perfect companions.

My online shop is now closed until January 16th, but with so many gorgeous places to explore, I highly recommend a trip to visit these wonderful independent Cumbria businesses and why not pick up a candle while you are there.

Merry Christmas, see you in 2023
